    I give up.....after several nights looking I cannot find setupORG.exe, and presetup.cmd anywhere . Both in the txtserup.sil file but not in any bootable/nonbootable XP SP1-3 install/upgrade

      @John R McMullen Windows XP is meant to be installed with a Disc. If you try to do a USB Flash installation then you should read the ReadMe file on how to do a Windows XP USB Flash installation.

      @John R McMullen
      Those files are created by the DriverPacks BASE tool when you add the SATA DriverPack with the text mode "F6" option.

      And the DriverPacks website is outdated you have to click on the forum to get the latest DriverPacks.

      I also uploaded the latest DriverPacks BASE tool for you, because it's not available on the website only in the private Testing Team forum topic.

    Hello Ramsey, just out of curiosity.

    Why does your Windows XP IE use an explorer.exe file from Windows Embedded PosReady 2009?

    I would like to ask the same about some other important system files

    msgina.dll
    xpsp3res.dll
    winbrand.dll
    etc

    Would it be safe to say that this adds some additional security to Windows XP and that it fixes something that would not be fixed using any third party service packs (like harkaz's unofficial SP4)?
    • This commment is unpublished.

      Because they are newer Windows NT5.1 files which Microsoft hasn't released for Windows XP.

    Tell me what do you think (penguin)!

      Ramsey · 3 years ago
      @Martino Contento
      Like it says in the Patch Integrator this ACPI patch is for sockets (mainboards) that are newer than 2016 and your socket 478 (mainboard) is from 2001.
      You should not use this patch at all on your soket 478. Those patches are to get Windows XP working on newer computers and not to make your computer faster.

      You try to install WMP10 on a Windows that has already WMP11 integrated.
      You only have to select it in the "Windows Components" and click Next if you want it to show up.

      @Ramsey I can use WMP11 when I select it in Windows Components; however, I have a software that specifically requires WMP10.

    It is not quite "interal" question, but I will try :)

    I want to put ide hdd with windows xp sp3 to another pc (1. mobo has defected capacitors).
    1.mobo, SUPERMICRO SUPER P8SGA - Intel 915G Express / Intel ICH6 (winxp wont start, hdd is OK, tested with hdd regenerator)
    2.mobo, ASROCK ConRoe1333-D667 R1.0 - Intel® 945GC A2 Chipset / Intel ICH7

    What is easiest way to start winxp w/o blue screen. (On disk is special software to program CNC machine through LPT port.)
    - changing Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller... ?!?
    - I did not put hdd in 2. PC jet to avoid unpredictable problems, but I made disk image with acronis.

    Thanx :)

      You could try the Windows XP Repair option from the ISO/Disc.
      The BSOD in you case is because the SATA driver is incompatible with the Intel ICH7 Chipset.
